CNN Reports Housing Prices at Lowest Since 2002

CNN has a report out that housing prices have dropped 3.5% in the last 12 months. Further it lists New York as one of the nine markets hitting a post bubble low. Before panic sets in I think the thing to remember is that home values in New York value greatly by neighborhood.

While some neighborhoods may be continuing to struggle, others are recovering, or never suffered as severe of a price decline. I would recommend if you're wondering about the value of your home, or considering selling, that you contact a realtor today and have them prepare a free CMA.

Many homeowners rely on faulty data gathered from their neighbors or other unreliable sources about home values in their neighborhood. There is no good reason to sit and fret over rumors of value when a professional realtor is only a phone call away. Most realtors will provide a free, no obligation CMA, there is nothing to lose. It's better to know the truth rather than let your imagination run away and cause worry. Some homeowners will also be pleasantly surprised.
